Terms of Service — DoseHandoff

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Evgenii Doronin ("DoseHandoff," "we," "us," or "our") for your use of the DoseHandoff mobile app, the sitter web link, and related services (the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ THE VETERINARY & SAFETY DISCLAIMER (SECTION 2) AND THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY (SECTION 13). DoseHandoff IS A RECORD-KEEPING AND REMINDER TOOL ONLY. IT IS NOT A VETERINARY SERVICE AND DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE.

1. What DoseHandoff is

DoseHandoff is a tracker for pet medication routines and dose logs. It lets pet owners and authorized caregivers record owner-entered medication schedules, mark doses as given or skipped, view history, receive reminders, export logs, and share temporary sitter access.

DoseHandoff is not a veterinarian, veterinary clinic, emergency service, pharmacy, prescription service, medical device, or clinical decision-support tool. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any disease or condition in any animal, and it does not decide whether, when, or which medication to give.

2. Veterinary and safety disclaimer

• You are solely responsible for your pet's care and medication decisions. The App depends on information entered by you or your household and may be wrong, delayed, unavailable, out of sync, misconfigured, or misunderstood.
• The App does not verify prescriptions, medication names, dosages, schedules, interactions, missed-dose instructions, allergies, or side effects, and does not decide whether a medication is appropriate for your pet.
• Always follow the instructions of a licensed veterinarian and the medication label. If anything in the App conflicts with veterinary instructions, the veterinary instructions control.
• In an emergency — possible illness, injury, overdose, reaction, or missed critical dose — contact your veterinarian, an emergency veterinary clinic, or animal poison control immediately. Do not wait for or rely on the App.
• Never use the App as the only source of truth for whether a pet should receive medication. Reminders may be delayed, missed, or not delivered — they depend on your device, OS, network, and settings.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to use the App. Only an adult, or a person legally authorized to do so, may create an Owner household, accept these Terms on behalf of a household, or purchase a subscription or lifetime access.

4. Accounts and roles

The App uses Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for keeping your Apple or Google account secure and for activity under your account.

• Owner — manages the household, pets, medications, caregivers, sitter links, exports, billing access, and deletion.
• Caregiver — has an account and can view shared household information and mark doses according to permissions.
• Sitter — uses a temporary, no-account link and can access only the pets, dates, and actions that link allows.

Owners are responsible for whom they invite and for revoking access when it is no longer needed. Do not share sitter links with anyone who should not access the pet care log.

5. Your content and pet records

You retain ownership of the information you enter. You grant us a limited license to host, process, store, display, transmit, and back up that information solely to operate, secure, support, and improve the App and comply with law. You agree not to enter unlawful, harmful, or intentionally misleading information, and not to enter human medical information. If you include personal information in free-text notes, you confirm you have the right to share it with your household.

6. Subscriptions, trial, lifetime, and Free plan

The App may offer: a Monthly Plus subscription ($4.99/month); an Annual Plus subscription ($39.99/year); a Lifetime Plus purchase ($59.99 one-time); a 7-day free trial where available for eligible monthly/annual purchases; and a limited Free plan after a trial or subscription ends. Prices and terms shown in the App's purchase flow control if they differ from the placeholders here.

• Auto-renewal. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless canceled before the end of the trial or current period, under Apple App Store or Google Play rules. At the end of a free trial, the plan converts to paid unless canceled beforehand. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and does not renew.
• Managing and canceling. Manage or cancel in your store account — iOS: App Store settings; Android: Google Play subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Payments and refunds. Payments are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. Refunds are governed by the applicable store's policies; we do not control store refunds.
• The Restore Purchases feature is available in the App; access is activated based on store/RevenueCat entitlement and server-side verification.

7. Free and Plus limits

Free access may be limited to one active pet, one active caregiver, one active sitter link, limited history, and basic export. Plus may unlock additional pets, caregivers, sitter links, full history, and vet-ready exports. If Plus ends, data above Free limits may become visible but locked — it is not deleted solely because your plan changed, and you may need to choose which pet, caregiver, or sitter link remains active on the Free plan.

8. Apple and Google store terms

• Apple (iOS). These Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Your license to the iOS app is a non-transferable license to use it on Apple-branded products you own or control, under Apple's Usage Rules (including Family Sharing where applicable). These Terms incorporate Apple's Licensed Application EULA at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/; where they conflict, these Terms govern to the extent permitted.
• Google (Android). Your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service, including billing and subscription-management rules.

9. License and acceptable use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal pet-care tracking under these Terms. You may not: reverse-engineer, scrape, attack, or overload the service; bypass role, sitter-link, App Check, subscription, or Free-tier limits; use the App to provide veterinary, medical, or emergency services; rely on the App as a medical device or emergency alert system; use it for human medication tracking; upload malicious content; or violate law or third-party rights.

10. Availability and changes to the service

The App may be interrupted, delayed, unavailable, or changed. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features (including Free or Plus features) where reasonable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

11. Account deletion

You can delete your account in the App. If an Owner deletes an account, the associated household and its pet care records may be permanently deleted. If a Caregiver deletes an account, the caregiver leaves the household, though historical dose entries may remain attributed by display name or role for record integrity. Deleting your account does not cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions — cancel those through the store.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT REMINDERS, NOTIFICATIONS, SYNC, EXPORTS, OR LOGS WILL BE CORRECT OR TIMELY. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR INDEPENDENTLY VERIFYING ALL MEDICATION INFORMATION, DOSE DECISIONS, AND PET CARE ACTIONS. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL.
• WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY HARM, INJURY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH OF ANY ANIMAL, OR FOR ANY MEDICATION ERROR, MISSED DOSE, DOUBLE DOSE, INCORRECT DOSE, SITTER/CAREGIVER ACTION, APP UNAVAILABILITY, SYNC OR NOTIFICATION FAILURE, OR RELIANCE ON THE APP. THE APP IS A RECORD-KEEPING AND REMINDER TOOL ONLY.
• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US THROUGH THE APP STORES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions, they apply only to the maximum extent permitted. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (such as for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or mandatory consumer rights).

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Evgenii Doronin from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your misuse of the App, your content, your pet care decisions, your sharing of sitter/caregiver access, or your violation of these Terms or law.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except that consumers keep any mandatory rights under the laws of their place of residence. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at hello [at] dosehandoff.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days. If we cannot resolve it, disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Spain, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country gives you the right to bring the claim locally.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version at https://dosehandoff.com/terms, revise the "Last updated" date, and, for material changes, provide notice in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
