Veterinary & Safety Disclaimer — DoseHandoff

Last updated: June 11, 2026

This disclaimer is also part of our Terms of Service (Section 2). It is presented separately so it can be shown prominently in the App, during onboarding, and on our website.

DoseHandoff is a pet medication tracker — a record-keeping and reminder tool only. It is not a veterinarian, veterinary clinic, emergency service, pharmacy, prescription service, medical device, or clinical decision-support tool.

Not veterinary advice

DoseHandoff does not provide veterinary advice. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any disease or condition in any animal, and it does not decide whether a medication is appropriate, safe, effective, correctly prescribed, correctly dosed, or correctly scheduled.

All medication names, dose notes, schedules, reminders, instructions, and logs are entered by users. DoseHandoff does not verify them. Always follow the instructions of a licensed veterinarian and the medication label. If anything in DoseHandoff conflicts with your veterinarian's instructions, the veterinarian's instructions control.

Emergencies

Do not use DoseHandoff for emergencies. If your pet may be ill, injured, having a reaction, missing a critical dose, may have received too much medication, or may be experiencing any urgent condition, contact your veterinarian, an emergency veterinary clinic, or an animal poison control hotline immediately. Do not wait for a notification, sync update, caregiver response, sitter link, or app screen before seeking professional help.

You are responsible

You are solely responsible for:

DoseHandoff may be wrong, delayed, unavailable, or out of sync. Reminders and notifications may fail. Offline changes may sync later or be rejected. Another household member may enter incorrect information or mark a dose incorrectly.

Not a medical device

DoseHandoff is intended only to store, display, remind, and share owner-entered pet medication records. It does not analyze medical data, recommend treatment, calculate dosing, detect interactions, provide clinical alerts, triage conditions, or control any device. Do not use it as a medical device or as the only source of truth for medication decisions.

No liability for outcomes

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any harm, injury, illness, or death of any animal, or for any missed, double, or incorrect dose, arising from or related to your use of the App. See the Limitation of Liability in our Terms of Service.

Short in-app version (for onboarding / a prominent screen)

DoseHandoff is a tracker only. It is not veterinary advice or an emergency service, and it does not verify medications, doses, schedules, or interactions. Always follow your veterinarian's instructions, and contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary clinic for urgent concerns.

If you do not agree with this disclaimer, do not use the App.
